Start with the main living areas, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms, then identify spaces that need their own coverage: a garage, workshop, home office, storage area or detached structure. The shoot brief should explain why those spaces matter to the intended buyer.
Include approximate square footage and note any separate buildings when requesting a quote. An exterior photograph alone does not communicate a workshop’s layout or a garage’s usable interior, so arrange access if those details are important.
Prepare for a smooth room sequence.
Finish cleaning and move temporary storage before the shoot. Clear window sills and main sightlines, make beds consistently and remove vehicles that obscure the approach or facade.
If rooms are occupied or used for work, agree on an order that keeps the shoot moving. Share pet arrangements and any areas that should remain private. For a builder project, identify finish details that deserve coverage beyond the standard listing views.
